Brave Boat Headwaters, which shares the same name as the nearby scenic harbor, is an important preserve in this coastal ecosystem. It contains headwaters to the harbor, and is part of a large unprotected swath of land in the area. The preserve offers an easy, wooded loop, with a look at the freshwater stream that feeds into the sea. Additionally, you can walk a short leg to Bartlett Road, which runs alongside farm fields. It may be a bit hard to see the trail from the road. It comes out right at utility pole 42. Or rather, 84-42.
Directions: The trailhead parking lot—which is quite large—is off Brave Boat Harbor Road, across from Salt Marsh Lane.
