The two riverside walks of Bangor and Brewer lie opposite one another, across the Penobscot River. If you’re ambitious, you can combine them for a lovely and longish riverside walk. Brewer’s walk is about 0.8 mile, from Penobscot Street to a bit past Hardy Street. The path is paved, wheelchair accessible, and pretty, especially at sunset.
In 2024, Brewer added a “music park,” six stand-alone instruments, including bells, a xylophone, and drums, which you can play with provided mallets or your own hands.
Directions: According to the city, there are several parking lots available: one located on the corner of Maple Street and South Main Street, one on the corner of Wilson Street and North Main Street, and one on Penobscot Street.
