An easy, little, and pleasant walk, this trail abuts the Bristol Consolidated School. Every school should have a nature preserve as a neighbor! The Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust’s trail takes you to views of the Pemaquid River, which was at low tide when I visited.
Directions: From Damariscotta, take the Bristol Road (Route 130) about 10 miles to the Bristol Consolidated School at 2153 Bristol Rd, which will be on the right. When school is not in session, the public may park in the school lot and access the trail from off the right side of the lot. However, public parking in the school lot during regular school hours is prohibited. Just south of the school on the west side of the road is access to the trail directly off the road onto town property; there is limited pull-off parking at this site.
Hello, in 2019 Pemaquid Watershed Association joined with Damariscotta River Association, and we are now Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust. This affects Crooked Farm, Bearce Allen, La Verna, and others in the area. For a list of the trails we own and/or co-manage: http://www.coastalrivers.org/preserves-trails/properties-town/
Thank you!
That is exciting! Thank you for letting me know, and I will update my posts!
