Carlson Woods Preserve, Unity

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 27 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1 mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: forest, stream

You can do a one-mile peaceful walk in the forest at this 27-acre easement. A .2-mile leg brings you to a .6-mile loop that at one point crosses a small brook. Because this is private land, the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust asks visitors not to harvest mushrooms or plants.

Directions: The preserve is off Waning Road, which is partly unpaved. The trailhead is just past Five Stone Lane on the right (if you’re coming from the north), and is .4 miles from the intersection with Glidden Road. The parking area is small and a bit overgrown.
