Chessey Preserve, Sebago

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 109 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 0.5 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Browns Pond

This 109-acre preserve has a 0.5 trail to a little pond. The beginning of the trail was overgrown when I visited in September, 2016, but after passing through this section, the rest of the trail was wide and easy to follow. There is a nice view of Browns Pond at the end, and the walk through the forest is peaceful (when it’s not wet).

Directions: The trailhead is on Hancock Pond Road, about 1 mile from the intersection with Route 107. The trailhead is on your left, about 100 yards beyond a large cemetery on the right. There is a small pull-out on the road and a small preserve sign.
