Chip Stockford Reserve, Lovell

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 149 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1-mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Sights: working forest

This Greater Lovell Land Trust preserve of 155 acres has a walk that’s roughly a mile and moderately easy. The view of Kezar Lake was a little obscured by leaves when I visited in early fall. One of the best parts of this preserve is the charmingly named “Ladies Delight Hill,” which evidently was a sarcastic name given by the women who lived there once, as they found it a lonely and isolating spot!

Directions: From Route 5, turn onto West Lovell Road. Go about 1.3 miles and turn left onto Ladies Delight Road. The trailhead is about 0.3 mile on the right. You should see a sign for Bill Sayles Trail and a kiosk up a ways.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
