Durham River Park, Durham

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 12 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 0.3 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Androscoggin River

A very short loop trail on a narrow path brings you to the shores of the Androscoggin River. The park includes picnic tables, a canoe launch (looks like it could be a bit tricky to get a canoe in, though!) and a small field. The Androscoggin Land Trust says the bend of the river here was historically called Southwest Bend.

Directions: From the intersection of Route 136 and Route 9 (Newell Brook Road and Royalsborough Road), follow 136 north 0.5 miles. The park will be on the right.
