Little Wilson Falls Trail — A 1.4-mile trail follows Little Wilson Stream to a waterfall tumbling down over blocky rocks. The ascent is gradual. Swimming holes abound.
Borestone Mountain Audubon Sanctuary — Five miles of trails in this preserve includes a 1.8-mile moderate hike, with some clambering over boulders, to the glorious summit. Along the way, you’ll pass picturesque tarns.
Barren Mountain, from Monson — The first peak in the 100-mile wilderness section of the AT. Views from the top are only decent; better if you climb the summit firetower. The highlight for was Cloud Pond, another .9 miles along the AT.
