Falmouth Community Park, Falmouth

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 160 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~4 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Sights: fields, forests, streams

The trails in Cumberland, Falmouth, and Windham are very well connected, either by footpath or snowmobile trail. In my map above, Falmouth Community Park is in yellow; Knight’s Pond Preserve in light blue; Rines Forest in green; Hadlock Forest in maroon; Farwell Forest in lavender; Falmouth Town Forest in dark blue; Blackstrap Preserve in orange. Not shown on this map are the connected trails of North Falmouth Community Forest, Greely Woods, and Lowell Preserve.

Here is my attempt at a map that roughly shows the multi-town interconnected trail system.

The Community Park offers more than three miles of trails, probably closer to four, plus it links to the Town Forest, which links to Hadlock Forest, which links to Rines Forest, and so on.

The trails (on the kiosk map, they are marked yellow) pass through large rolling fields and are well mown. They could be wheelchair accessible, if you can push your wheels through grass. They seem like they’d make great x-c ski trails, too. You can make your way up a small hill to a bench under a tree, before heading into the woods. Soon after entering the forest, you’ll come to a beautiful stream and a small cascade.

The trails in the woods are more difficult and technical.

Directions: The park is located off of Winn Road, about 1/8 of a mile north of Falmouth Road.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
