Fuller Mountain, Phippsburg

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: NA
  • Trail Mileage: ~.9-mile walk
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Sights: quarry, views

A roughly .6-mile hike will take you to the top of Fuller Mountain, to its nice views west of an inlet, and to the remains of a mountain-top quarry. The trail is on private land, so take care. It is not marked, but the trail is easy to follow. From the parking area, you start out on an old track, walking below a ridge (which will be on your right). At some point you start following a stream. At roughly 0.35-mile, the track takes a sharp right up the hill, you’ll see a series of stones that serve as a staircase. The climb is short and a bit steep. Keep following the path to the open, ledgy summit — it is fairly discernible where people have walked before.

In the spring of 2024, activity at the top looked like the someone might be building a new home. I’ll keep my eye on it.

Directions: There is a small pull-off on Meadowbrook Road (or what Google maps says is Meadowbrook Road), where the road make a sharp turn. It’s about 0.4 miles from the junction with Pasture Road and 0.6 miles from the intersection with Basin Road.
