Geele Farm Trails, Waldoboro

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 100 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 2.2 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: secluded cove, marsh, fields, Medomak River

This is a lovely 2.5-miles walk (if you do all the perimeter trails) that includes a secluded cove, a blue-green estuary, fields and about a mile along the Medomak River where there are a couple of places to take a refreshing saltwater dip. The land is protected by the Midcoast Conservancy.

Directions: Take Route 32 south from Rt. 1 in Waldoboro for 2.7 miles, turn left onto Dutch Neck Road, then right in 1/3 mile onto Gross Neck Road. Parking and the trailhead are on the right, at a green gate, in approximately 1 ½ miles. You will pass a couple of signs for the preserve in the fields, where some people pull over to park, but the official parking lot is at the kiosk and gate.
