George Gould Nature Trail, Waldoboro

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: .9 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: fields, stream, forest, former school grounds

I can’t vouch for the condition of this former school trail (the school is long gone), but as of the fall of 2024, you could still follow it as it makes a short loop through the woods. The path is just under one mile, and brings you to a stream, a meadow (careful of the prickers), and back to the school fields. It is marked with blue blazes.

Directions: Park at the large dirt lot at the intersection of Philbrick Lane and School Street. To find the start of the trail, walk toward the playing fields, hugging the woods. Stay to the right of the fields. The path enters the woods where a fence ends, and is marked with a large sign.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
