We explored this Orono Land Trust preserve on our way up to Baxter State Park, to stretch our legs during a long drive. It did not have as many clear views of the wetlands as we expected. One of the nicest parts of the walk is the start, where there is a boat launch and small park on Pushaw Lake. The parking spots here are reserved for people with permits. Walkers can park in the small pullover by the trailhead.
Directions: The trailhead is on Essex Street at Gould’s landing on Pushaw Lake. Park along the narrow pullover close to the kiosk.
