Greenbie Natural Area, Castine

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 43 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~.7 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: woods, wetland

If you like peaceful walks in the woods, consider visiting this preserve. The .7-mile trail starts off in a meadow before entering a pretty forest. The path comes to an end at a marsh.

I did notice that the Blue Trust Heritage Trust marks this path as 1/2 mile-long, but I’m going with what my GPS says to stay consistent!

Directions: If you’re coming from Blue Hill, take Route 175 northwest toward Route 199 from Penobscot, and continue on 199 after 175 turns right towards Orland. At the junction of 199 and Castine Road/166A (formerly 166) take a left toward Castine. At the junction of The Shore Road/166 and Castine Road/166A, turn right onto The Shore Road/166 and go about 1.6 miles, just past the Transfer Station. The parking area is on the right.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
