QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 41 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.1 miles in network

This is a quiet, wooded spot, with a wide, flat section of the trail running alongside the pretty Presumpscot River. The 41-acre preserve, protected by the Presumpscot Regional Land Trust, seems to be popular with dog walkers, and it offers a portage for boats with a sturdy boat launch and staircase. The loop is roughly 1.2 miles.

Additionally, at the north end of the preserve, some people continue beyond the preserve boundaries up the old tow path, which follows the river all the way to Gambo Preserve. This trail is on private property and is not maintained.

Directions:The main parking area is at the end of Tow Path Road off Route 202 in Gorham. You can also park at Great Falls Elementary School.
