Hundred Acre Wood, Brooklin

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 113 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.7 mile loop
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: forest

Yes, this preserve is named after Winnie the Pooh’s beloved habitat! The pleasing looped trail does in fact take you through a bit over one hundred acres of woods. I appreciate a trail system where the trail designer has thoughtfully created an elegant loop that includes an area’s highlights.

In 2022, the Blue Hill Heritage Trust created a half-mile all-access, wheelchair-accessible trail on the property. The parking lot includes two reserved spots for handicap-accessible vans.

Directions: From the rotary in Blue Hill, turn onto South Street and veer right on Route 172. Go 6 miles before turning left onto Hales Hill Road. Go another .7 miles to a four-way intersection. Continue straight onto High Street. The trail head and parking area is roughly 500 feet from the intersection, on the left.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
