Hunter Cove Wildlife Sanctuary in blue; Hunter Cove Uplands in green;

You can do a one-mile or so loop at this Rangeley Lakes Heritage Trust preserve, with easy walking, and get a chance to check out the beautiful lake and take a dip and have a picnic at a table, if you’d like! The perimeter trail is in the best shape, the interior trails are a little overgrown.

Nearby, across the cove, is the twin preserve of Hunter Cove Uplands.

Directions: Rt. 4, 4.5 miles north of town, or 3 miles south of Oquossoc. You will see the sign on the west side of Rt. 4.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
