Hurricane Valley Farm, Falmouth

My map only shows one of the two loops at this preserve. The first .8-mile loop makes a loop around some of the 62-acre farm’s fields. Because the trail is grassy, I found it to be quite tick-laden during my mid-August visit, so it’s possibly better to do in the winter as a short ski or snowshoe. The land trust has put up trail markers along the fence to mark the loop.

The Falmouth Land Trust bought this historic farm to protect it from being developed, and is partnering with the nonprofit group Cultivating Community to grow food here.

Directions: From Route 100, turn onto Schuster Road and turn right onto the gravel driveway. Ahead, you’ll see a trailhead kiosk in the middle of a grassy field and the trail markers heading off to the right toward the fields.
