Island trails

I don’t get the chance to visit many islands, but when I do, I try to find trails. Here’s what I’ve walked so far:

Reachable by Ferry

• Squirrel Island, Southport
• Swan Island, Richmond
• Monhegan Island, Lincoln County
• Vinalhaven (not yet complete)
• Acadia National Park, Isle au Haut

Reachable by private boat

• Warren Island, Isleboro
• The Goslings (with a trail on Lower Goose), Harpswell

Reachable by foot at low tide

• Merritt Island, West Bath (reachable by causeway at low tide)
• Matthew’s Island, Eastport

Reachable by road (causeway)

• Great Wass Island Preserve, Beals
• Sears Island, Searsport
• Mackworth Island, Portland
