Lewiston-Auburn Riverwalk Trail, Lewiston and Auburn

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: NA
  • Trail Mileage: 1.6 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: river, city parks

This is a cool city walk along the Androscoggin River. As you walk by the river, in front of apartment buildings and through parks, you can marvel at the diversity of human and dog life that abounds here. At one end, near the Hilton hotel, there is a lovely view of the falls (when there’s water). When there isn’t water, you can see gigantic rocks, the pools of water that collect in them and the sinister signs warning people not to swim. It is easy to find parking at the Hilton-end of the walk because there are city lots here.

It looks like the trail may continue up river on the Lewiston side from Memorial Bridge? I’ll have to explore further!

Directions: West Pitch Park (views of the falls) is accessed from behind the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn. You can also access the trail directly parallel to Miller Street, off Maine Street or Newbury Street, and off Oxford Street in Lewiston. Or from behind the car wash on Water Street.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
