For a quiet, sandy beach, on an undeveloped pond of clear, calm water, with a view of a small mountain in the distance, this spot can’t be beat! The walk in to the beach is along an easy, but rooty and rocky, .4-mile path. On a recent hot Saturday morning, there were about four cars parked in the lot.
Directions: From coastal Route 1, drive to Route 183, also called Tunk Lake Road. Drive north on Route 183 for 4.7 miles, past the Donnell Pond Public Reserve Land sign, and continue .25 mile. The trailhead will be on your left.
