QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: Not sure
- Trail Mileage: 1 mile in network
- Pets: no
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: playing fields, Great Works River
There are two loops at this town property: The 0.5-mile “upper loop,” which is crushed gravel and wheelchair accessible, circles the playing fields. It’s pleasant. The woods loop, just under half a mile, is also really nice, as it brings you down to Great Works River to a peaceful spot in the woods. Well, it’s peaceful when people aren’t shooting off guns at the nearby rod and gun club!
The woods loop is not wheelchair accessible, but is fairly easy to walk. Part of the path is on boardwalks. You reach the woods by descending some stairs down from the playing fields. When I visited in late July, the start of the trail at the bottom of these stairs had become overgrown. Dogs are not allowed, with the exception of service animals.
Directions: You’ll see signs for the two loops at the North Berwick Recreation and Community Center, at 264 Lebanon Road.

Just FYI: the Madeline Blaisdell Walking Trails and the Community Center in North Berwick do *not* allow dogs (aside from service animals). It is sort of fuzzily noted on this trail map, but wanted to point that out as your listing indicates that it is pet-friendly.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ve made the correction.
