Main Stream Preserve, Stockton Springs

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 250 acres
  • Trail Mileage: 1.6 miles round trip
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: stream

To get to this Coastal Mountains Land Trust preserve, you must walk .3-mile along a grassy, overgrown path (grassy in the summer, that is!) to reach the walking path. If you walk another .4 miles or so along the blue trail, you’ll come to the grassy banks of Main Stream. It’s not too easy to access the stream because of the reeds and grass. The loop trail adds .3 miles.

Directions: The preserve is located at the end of the dead-end Sherer Road. If you’re coming from Route 1, the best way to reach the trailhead is to take Harris Road. Once you reach Old County Road, take a left. Sherer Road will soon be on your right. Don’t try to take Old County Road from Stockton Springs! The road is a pit-holed logging track (or it was in June 2017).

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
