Miles Lane Trail, Bucksport

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: ~ 3.2 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: school fields, small pond, forest

This is the nicest network of trails (about three miles) I’ve walked on near a school. The students — particularly x-c runners — are lucky! The paths are wide, smooth and wheelchair accessible. There is a little path (rougher than the rest) around a small pond near the upper portion of the trail. This path weaves through forest and around playing fields. One short portion follows the power lines.

Directions: You can pick up the trail close to the running track. If you park behind Bucksport’s high school, at 102 Broadway Street, you’ll see a paved path going up a hill and toward the running track. Follow that and look for the blue Miles Lane signs and the crushed gravel path heading into the woods.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
