QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: Not sure
- Trail Mileage: ~0.5 miles one way
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: Mill Brook
When I walked here in 2023, the short trail to the river was pleasant, and so was the river itself, but the trail beyond was not yet developed and deteriorated after about 0.6 miles. (The land trust says it plans to improve it.) Once you cross the wide bridge, you’ll walk along a bank high above the brook, and it is difficult to access the water.
Directions: There is no parking by the trail head on Mount Ephraim Road. In downtown Searsport, you can park in a lot across the street from Toziers, on Goodell Street, and walk about 0.3 miles up the road north to the trail. The preserve entrance is on the left side of the road by one of the red fire hydrants that line the road, this one the one before the entrance to the Village Cemetery. There is a sign on a cedar tree 20 feet from the road. Walk down the grassy path about 400 feet, when the woods road turns right onto the preserve.
