QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: Not sure
- Trail Mileage: 2-mile loop
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: brook, woods, playing fields
These town trails, about 2.5 miles in total, were lovingly tended to when I visited, and are very easy. If you do the full outer loop, it’s roughly 2 miles.
Almost the whole trail system is packed gravel and wheelchair accessible (see the official map below). The mostly wooded paths, all of them wide, are well-marked. One little spur that is not accessible heads down to a pretty moss-lined brook. Another trail is called ‘Little Dream Trail,’ which I thought was apt.
The trails near the community park include a leg that is not accessible. But the dirt roads around the playing fields are. To find this last section, which is wide but rooty and connects the community park playing fields to the school, cross the last field at the north end of the park and look for the trail sign on the left, or west side, of the field.
Every town should have a trail system like this! It truly is a role model.
Directions: Trailhead access is behind the Minot town office, off of Route 119.
