Morrill-Stillings Bird Sanctuary, Falmouth

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: .75 mile loop
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Fields and woods

From Babbidge Road, walk .2 miles to the trailhead kiosk and a .8-mile loop. The preserve is a bird sanctuary and to encourage their nesting, pets are not allowed. The Falmouth Land Trust says Morrill Farm is one of the oldest farms in Falmouth, had apple and pear trees—and grew peonies!

Directions: The trail opening is across the street from 20 Babbidge Road. Right now, there is no preserve sign or designated parking area, but you can pull over on the side of the street. Walk across the yard (making sure not to trespass on the homeowner’s lawn) to an opening in the woods. Shortly, you’ll reach the kiosk (which wasn’t quite finished when we visited).
