Morse Pond Preserve, Georgetown

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 280 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~3.5-mile walk
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Sights: wetlands, forest, pond

The 280-acre Morse Pond Preserve offers a lovely 3.3-mile walk through woods, over a stream strewn with moss-covered stones, and to a quiet, undeveloped pond. No dogs allowed here because there are sensitive habitats, including wetlands.

The total mileage, if you just do the Carousel Loop, is about 2.2 miles. From the parking area to the pond, it’s roughly 1.5 miles. And if you do the whole trail system, you’ll clock in at ~3.5 miles.

Directions: From Route 1, take Route 127 (Five Islands Rd.) south for 10 miles. Turn right on Seguinland Road and drive 1.1 miles to the preserve. The entrance to the small gravel parking lot will be on the right. The Reid State Park entrance gate is quarter mile south of the preserve’s trailhead.
