Murray Preserve, Lincolnville

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 10 acres
  • Trail Mileage: .2 miles one way
  • Pets: no
  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Sights: Penobscot Bay, Ducktrap River

When I visited this beautiful place, a few people were sitting in their parked cars eating their lunches. This is such a Maine scene: people want to enjoy the beauty everywhere, but it’s too cold to actually spend long outside! Murray Preserve is more of a destination than a hiking spot. It is just 10 acres and there is no trail. But you can mosey down the cobblestone beach — watch your step — for a little ways. I wasn’t sure where the preserve boundary ended, but I turned around when I reached the houses.

Directions: The preserve is at end of Howe Point Road, off of Route 1.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
