North Jay White Granite Park, Jay

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: 1.2 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: views, quarry, field

For relatively little effort, you can get a fine view over the quarry if you hike up the a quarter of a mile away from the fields that make up the bulk of this pretty town park. At the top of the hill, you can sit in the white gazebo, which seems poised to host a wedding party!

The trails in this park are obvious and well maintained; you’ll walk past a few older tracks in the forest section that are fairly scruffy, so it’s easy to follow the right path. If you don’t hike up to the gazebo, you’ll still have nice vistas down in the fields surrounded by rolling countryside.

Directions: The address is 14 Woodman Hill Road. Follow Route 4 to top of Jay Hill and turn onto Old Jay Hill Road and drive about one mile. Take right onto Woodman Hill Road.
