Oak Point Farm, Boothbay

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 32 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~1.1 miles in network
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Hogdon Cove, fields, freshwater pond

This former saltwater farm, with mowed fields leading to a protected cove, with a pond and apple orchards and beautiful views all around, is now the headquarters of the Boothbay Region Land Trust.

You can do two easy, flat loops with lots of views of a tidal cove and its nooks, crannies, and wildlife. A short but stunning wheelchair-accessible trail crosses a meadow to a dock and float with sparkling views.

The shorter path loops around a small pond while the other roughly 1-mile loop goes around the perimeter of this 32-acre property, through fields, woods, and along the shorefront. My nieces love the story trail, too.

Directions: From Route 27, turn onto Corey Lane. Continue on Corey Lane past Barters Island Road. Corey Lane becomes Lakeside Drive at this point. Continue on Lakeside Drive 1.4 miles then turn right onto Samoset Road. Drive .3 miles to the Boothbay Region Land Trust driveway on the left. Going down the driveway, there is a parking lot on the right and handicapped parking at the end of the driveway.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
