QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 9 acres
- Trail Mileage: ~.7-mile loop
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: Pennesseewassee Lake, very old white pines
This is a .7-mile or so walk that includes a few places to look out over Pennesseewassee Lake. Supposedly the White Pines here are some of the oldest in Maine — and a few do look quite big. If you’re walking counter-clockwise, the first viewpoint off to your right can be quite swampy and wet. There are drier places ahead to get close to the lake.
Here’s a nice description.
Directions: From Main Street in Norway, turn right on Pleasant Street. The trailhead is about 0.2 miles on your left and is marked with a small sign. You’ll walk to the right of a private home, and about 100 feet or so into the woods, you’ll see the trail kiosk. Park to the side of the road.
