The trailhead for this forested trail was a bit tricky for me to find initially. After turning onto Anderson Road from Kimball Pond Road, the trailhead will be on your left, .25 from the intersection. You’ll see an old track with a chain across it. A few yards beyond it, you’ll find the trailhead kiosk and see a trail heading into the woods. This 60-acre Kennebec Land Trust preserve is a forested walk with a little bit of an uphill as you’re finishing the loop. When I visited in the fall of 2017, the land trust had added a second, slightly longer loop that had not yet been added to their preserve map.

Directions: From Readfield, take Rt 41 North for 11 miles, then turn right onto Kimball Pond Road and follow for 2.6 miles. Turn left onto Anderson Road. The trailhead will be just about .25 miles on the left, where an old track leads into the woods. It’s at the top of a hill, just after the meadow, and it might be blocked with a chain. Walk 50 feet or so down the track and you’ll see the trailhead kiosk.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
