The reserved lands are marked in green, the corridor trail in blue, and Bradbury State Park in orange.
Nearby to the popular groomed trails of Pineland Farms is a quiet spot used, I think, mostly by locals. The 600 or so acres of Pineland Public Reserved Lands, managed by the state, has 3.2 miles of trails in two loops. The southern loop connects to the long-distance walking path that follows the power lines to Bradbury Mountain. According to Maine Trail Finder, you can find rare Maine blackgum tupelo trees here.
You must stick to the blazed trails!
Directions: From the town center in Gray, follow ME Route 115 east for about 1.5 miles. Turn left on Depot Road and follow it for about 2.5 miles to a Public Reserve Lands sign at the trailhead on the left. Coming from New Gloucester or North Yarmouth, take Depot Road 0.5 miles west from its intersection with ME Route 231 to the parking and trailhead on the right.
