Prong Pond, Greenville

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: 1 mile one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy to moderate
  • Sights: quiet Prong Pond

The 1-mile there-and-back trail to Prong Pond brings you through woods to the shores of the quiet, largely undeveloped pond. When you get close to the end of the trail, about a quarter mile out, you’ll reach a nice view from the ridge. Then you make your way down to the pond’s shores.

You can rest in the grove by the pond’s edge, it’s really charming. You can probably swim, too, although the shore looks a bit rocky. The trail has some ups and downs and is moderate.

Directions: From Greenville, take Lily Bay Road north for about 7 miles to Prong Pond Road. Continue straight on the dirt road past the sign and righthand turn to the Prong Pond boat launch. Continue 0.3 miles to a large open gravel area. The trail is across the road, at the bottom west corner of the lot, the side closest to Lily Bay Road.
