Map shows trails in Cumberland County
- Fuller Farm — A really nice network of trails with lots of open space on 220 acres. Trails go through fields and woods. Dogs allowed, but they must be leashed during nesting season.
- Scarborough River Wildlife Sanctuary — This town-owned preserve includes about 1.2 miles of paths through meadows and views of the marsh.
- Sewall Woods — A shortish walk in 35 acres of woods with wide, well-marked trails on the southern side of the preserve.
- Broadturn Farm — A small wooded walk along the pretty Silver Brook.
- Libby River Farm — A roughly 1.4-mile walk, with a lovely observation deck of the marsh.
- Prouts Neck — An amazing spot, for its character, history, natural beauty and natural history. A must visit! Dogs allowed, and you can walk more than four miles here, including along the beach and a cliff walk.
- Pleasant Hill Preserve — A beautiful former farm, this 135-preserve contains the headwaters of the Spurwink River.
- Eastern Trail — A great bike path, with lovely off-road sections between South Portland and Kennebunk.
- Warren Woods — A loopy trail system wends through fields on this 156-acre preserve.
- Jennie and Isaac E. Willey Recreational Area — A 0.4-mile unmarked path through the woods brings you to a marsh overlook.
- Blue Point Preserve — A 0.7-mile easy walk on a 14-acre preserve includes a bench with a view over the marsh.
- Scarborough Marsh Audubon Center trail — A short trail, about 0.4-mile long along Route 9, provides prime birdwatching.
- Hunnewell Hill — A forested neighborhood trail system that brings you to the banks of the narrow Nonesuch River. Unfortunately, there is no designated parking at any of the trailheads.
- Memorial Park — You can make approximately a half-mile loop along paved paths that encircle the open fields of this small park.
- Blue Heron Preserve — A short, easy trail — about 0.2 miles one way — in a tiny preserve (~10 acres) brings you to the Nonesuch River in a busy part of town.
- Hemlock Grove Preserve — An 18-acre preserve at the edge of a neighborhood and abutting the highway, the forest contains Hemlocks both young and old.
