Map shows trails in Waldo County
- Moose Point State Park — A beautiful park, with a little over a mile of walking trails. Dogs allowed. Park at the gate in the winter. Pay a fee in the summer.
- Sears Island — It’s really wonderful this 940-acre island was saved from development. It is a quiet place, where you might just hear the waves pulling at the stony shore. Some walk around the perimeter on the narrow, pebbly beaches. There are also a few forested walking paths and roads in the interior of the island.
- Long Cove Headwaters Preserve — About 2.5 miles of so of trails in pretty forests. Dogs allowed. Criss-crosses with a snowmobile trail.
- Mill Brook Preserve — In 2023, you can make a short walk to a bridge over the brook, but beyond that, the trail wasn’t developed. Park in town and walk to the trailhead about 0.3 miles away.
