QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 16 acres
- Trail Mileage: 0.75-mile loop
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: fields
The first time I visited this preserve on a cold March day, I didn’t hear any singing as I walked the 0.75-mile loop around the field, just the wind howling. But I returned in the summer of 2024 and heard a meadow song of warblers, sparrows, and insects. On some visits you might also hear frogs and toads.
Boothbay Region Land Trust mows the relatively flat trails regularly, making the walking easy and pleasant. I imagine a sturdy wheelchair might be able to do some of the trail system? The only corner that was a bit wet was the loop around the southeast corner (where there is also a short bog bridge and it was a bit grassier than the rest of the trails).
Because of the sensitive habitat, dogs must be leashed at all time.
Directions: From Route 1 North, take a right onto Eddy Road, just after the bridge. After 1.2 miles, take a right onto Cross Point Road, and the parking lot is .3 miles on the right.
