- Wesserunsett Stream Preserve — A forested trail system includes a high overlook over the bendy stream.
- Parson Family Preserve — Walk short, easy trails through a meadow, check out the pollinators!
- Eaton Preserves — Two smallish preserves within a quarter mile of each other. Eaton Ridge is forested, Eaton Kennebec River Preserve has a half-mile easy trail to a view of the river.
- Coburn Woods — Miles of trails through quiet forest, or walk through sun-drenched trails across Taylor Field at the southern end of the preserve.
- Coburn Park — You have to share the pretty, paved lanes in this small park close to downtown with cars, but there is a magnificent view of the river, and a lily pad pond.
- Skowhegan Bog — Walk on mowed trails near Skowhegan schools or check out a little trail to a bog.
- Marti Stevens — A short trail by the river.
- Yankee Woodlot Demonstration Forest — You can do two loops through woods and fields at this large preserve. The lower loop includes a “Trail of Thoughts,” a series of nature-themed quotes, which is delightful.
- Debe Park River Trail — The half-mile trail along a dramatic stretch of river is paved and wheelchair accessible.
- Philbrick Trails — Wooded trails, with river access, including a sandy beach area and lofty views down to the river.
