Some Good Little Mountains

Here’s a list of mountains I highly recommend that aren’t too high but have views and can be hiked in a morning or afternoon (or sometimes just one hour!). All are under 2,500 feet. (Little doesn’t always mean easy, however, especially if the trail goes straight up, or is interminable!)

Western Maine (Oxford and Franklin counties)

Coastal Maine, from the midcoast (Brunswick), through Downeast

Southern Maine, mostly Cumberland and York counties

Central Maine, Kennebec County 

Northern Maine (Somerset, Piscataquis, Penobscot and Aroostook counties)
