Tills Point, Penobscot

This easy there-and-back trail begins on a wide path, and then narrows after you take a turn to the left. At this point, the going can be a bit wet. The land trust has set up wooden planks — bog bridges — to walk along, which helps, but they, too, can be slippery when damp. So take care.

After half a mile or so, you’ll reach a little grassy overlook with a bench and the seashore. You may hear lobster boats as you approach.

Directions: At the western intersection of Routes 175 and 199 in Penobscot, drive south on Route 199 for about 1.5 miles and turn left on Wardwell Point Road. Follow Wardwell Point Road for nearly a half mile until you reach Till’s Point Road on the right. Follow this road for approximately quarter of a mile. As the road bends left, stay straight on a very narrow lane that seems more suited to a cart than a car, and the parking area will be about 500 feet ahead.
