Town Forest Trail, St. George

Go for a quiet and peaceful 0.7-mile walk in the town forest, with a 0.25-mile spur to Jones Brook. In the old days, you could walk from here to Fort Point, but that is on hiatus for now, and hikers are asked to turn back at the brook.

Directions: (From the town) The Town Forest/Jones Brook trail parking is accessed from Kinney Woods Road, 0.7 miles east of its intersection with Route 131, which is located approximately 4.5 miles south from the intersection of Route 1 and 131 in Thomaston and 5.5 miles north from the intersection of Route 131 and Watts Avenue in Tenants Harbor. The parking area has room for about three or four vehicles.
