Tucker Mountain, Sullivan

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 121 acres
  • Trail Mileage: .5 miles one way
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: moderate
  • Sights: views of Frenchman Bay

For not so much effort, you can get enough elevation at this Frenchman Bay Conservancy easement for views of the bay. At about 0.45 miles, you’ll come to an open ledge with the best vista. If you continue a little ways, you’ll see the cairn marking the actual 397-foot summit (it’s wooded), and a little farther along, you’ll come to a picnic table. The road continues to a camp on private property.

Directions:  From the Sullivan side of the Hancock-Sullivan Bridge on Route 1, drive 2.6 miles to the Long Cove rest area on the right. Across from the rest area, there is a pullout for two or so cars. The path follows a grown-over old Route 1 on the right for a short distance to the mountain trail on your left.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
