Waldoboro Village River Park, Waldoboro

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: Not sure
  • Trail Mileage: ~0.3 miles
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Medomak River, meadow

This little town park is small but enchanting, especially on a summer day when you can look over its meadow of bright wildflowers to the dark Medomak River. To the south of the park, the river runs down a small waterfall and then curves around and underneath the bridge.

The short trails through the field are wide, mown and easy. The perimeter trail is just about 0.3 miles and brings you to the river’s shallow banks. You can swim, but the river might not be very deep. A couple of benches have been set up along the trail system for maximum blissing out!

Directions: From Jefferson Street, turn into a paved driveway next to the American Legion hall (at 181 Jefferson Street), and immediately head down a steep, short drive. You’ll see the trailhead kiosk in the northwest corner of the lot and signs indicating where you should park for the preserve.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
