Winthrop

  • Mt. Pisgah Conservation Area — Probably the highest point around for many miles! A moderately easy hike brings you to the top of this roughly 815-foot mountain with a tall fire tower and its 360-degree views.
  • Weston Woods — The 55-acre preserve in East Winthrop brings you in roughly half a mile to the reedy banks of the Little Cobbosseecontee Lake. Enjoy the mature forest along the way. There’s about 1.5 miles of walking here if you do the whole trail system.
  • Roger Guerette Community Trail — A lovely, winding, easy 1-mile loop in the woods on a wide, flat path. Includes a short side trail to a pretty brook.
  • Cobbosseecontee Lake Island Trails — The small islands in the center of the lake have a cumulative 72 protected areas (if I’m doing my math right!), and about three miles of blazed trails.
