A 0.3-mile, easy trail takes you to a bucolic open grassy area on the shores of Long Cove. There is a picnic table at the trail’s end. The land is protected by the Maine Coast Heritage Trust. I’d say the ledges on the shore would make good jumping off points for hardy swimmers!
Directions: From the junction of Route 131 and Route 1 in Thomaston, follow Route 131 south. In 7.5 miles, turn left onto Long Cove Road. Follow Long Cove Road .5 mile to the parking lot on the right.
