QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 49,075 acres
- Trail Mileage: 1.8 miles
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy to moderate
- Sights: Eagle Lake, views of Conners Nubble
Though this trail sticks closely to the side of Eagle Lake on relatively flat terrain, I’m rating it easy-moderate rather than easy because there are rough roots and rocks to navigate, and a few minor ups and downs. Though it’s only 1.8 miles long, it is a bit tiring.
The lakeside views are pretty but don’t quite make up for the exertion, unless you start from Eagle Lake Carriage Road, at the north end of the trail system. I imagine some people hike this as the epilogue to their round-trip hike up North Bubble and over to Conners Nubble, which is a great hike!
Directions: You can catch the Eagle Lake Trail off Park Loop Road, from either the parking lot for the Bubbles or at the north end of Bubble Pond.
