Fayette

  • Parker Pond Headland Preserve — This preserve, with about 2.5 miles of trail, has a lovely high ledge with views over the pond and a little island. Another pond access point seems swimmable.
  • Meadow Brook — A .7-mile trail through woods leads to snowmobile path, which will connect to other roads for a loop hike.
  • Surry Hill Community Forest — Hike less than a mile up a wide, easy track for nice views from an open 600-foot summit over nearby fields, sparkling lakes, and even the White Mountains, 63 miles  in the distance.
  • Oak Hill Conservation Area — A ~1.2-mile loop trail will bring you up a gentle hill to views through an opening in the trees of Echo Lake. 
  • Hales Pond Woodland Preserve — At this 76-acre preserve, you can do a 1.5 mile walk that includes a stretch along the quiet pond. No dogs allowed.
