Is this mainly a sidewalk that runs along a somewhat unexciting road? And does it pass a wastewater treatment plant? Yes, but the path is paved the whole way and is universally accessible, so therefore good in my book!
You can pick up the trail just about anywhere along Foundry Road. The nicest part is when it runs alongside big, open recreational fields. There are a couple of picnic tables and a playground here, as well as a tennis court growing weeds.
A non-accessible diversion is the short side trail to the carry-in boat launch, which ends at a small sandy beach on the Androscoggin.
Directions: If you’re headed north on Park Street (Route 133), take a left on Foundry Road. Drive a quarter mile and you’ll come to a wide parking area. The trail starts on the right side of the road.
