Great Farm Brook Preserve, Jackson

QUICK TRAIL FACTS

  • Preserve Size: 56 acres
  • Trail Mileage: ~ 1 mile
  • Pets: yes
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Sights: Great Farm Brook stream, beaver pond

A fine trail. Most of it follows a well-established, old track that is very easy to walk and really pleasant. When I visited, the trail ended at a beaver pond, where you can turn around and do the slightly rough Loop Trail back to the road.

Be sure and check out the little side paths. One goes to an overgrown pool, and I missed one to a view of Great Farm Brook, sadly. Best to study the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust map before heading out to keep your eye out for subtle intersections when you’re walking.

Directions: The trailhead kiosk on Village Road is behind a gate. You can park at the gate, in a small pull-over, big enough for two to three cars. If you’re coming from Route 7, the gate will be on your right, about a mile or so after you turn onto Village Road. If you pass Hadley Mill Road, you’ve gone 600 feet too far.

Let me know if you have any trail updates or corrections!
