QUICK TRAIL FACTS
- Preserve Size: 56 acres
- Trail Mileage: ~1 mile
- Pets: yes
- Difficulty: easy
- Sights: Great Farm Brook stream, beaver pond, vernal pool
A fine trail. Most of it follows a well-established, old track that is easy to walk and really pleasant. When I visited, the trail ended at a beaver pond, where you could turn around and do the slightly rough Loop Trail back to the road.
Be sure and check out the little side paths. One goes to a verdant, “high-value” vernal pool. Best to study the Sebasticook Regional Land Trust map before heading out to keep your eye out for subtle junctions. (I missed one to the brook, sadly!)
Directions: The trailhead kiosk on Village Road is behind a gate. You can park at the gate, in a small pull-over, big enough for two to three cars. If you’re coming from Route 7, the gate will be on your right, about a mile or so after you turn onto Village Road. If you pass Hadley Mill Road, you’ve gone 600 feet too far.
